Union County Jail Roster Status
The Union County Sheriff's Office Current Inmates page says the list is subject to change as people are booked or released. It is informational only and should not be used as a legal document. The page states users can see who is currently in jail and what they are charged with, but it also says inmate photos are not shown under O.C.G.A. 50-18-72 and includes a presumption-of-innocence disclaimer.
The official linked roster endpoint at https://interopweb.com/unionjailpop/ currently displays that the website was removed per the Union County Sheriff's Office. That means the search interface itself is not usable even though the sheriff page still references a roster. For current Union County inmate records, call the Sheriff's Office at 706-439-6066 or the jail at 706-439-6080. For a custody alert, use VINELink Georgia where participating data exists. For sentenced state custody after transfer, use the Georgia Department of Corrections offender query.
The sheriff current-inmates page explains the roster's limits and photo restriction.
That page is still useful for policy context, but the removed endpoint means a phone check is the reliable county fallback.
Search Union County Inmate Records
Because the roster endpoint is removed, Union County inmate lookup should follow a fallback chain. Start with the sheriff's published current-inmates notice. Then call the jail for current custody, bond, or release questions. Use statewide systems only when they match the custody stage. A jail record is not the same as the court charge record, so a person listed as charged has not been convicted unless the court disposition says so.
- Open the sheriff's Current Inmates page to review the official roster notice and limitations.
- If the linked roster does not load, call Union County Jail at 706-439-6080 for current custody status.
- Use the sheriff main phone, 706-439-6066, for incident report, arrest report, and records-routing questions.
- Use VINELink Georgia for custody notifications when the system has a participating record.
- Use GDC offender search only for sentenced state inmates after transfer from county custody.
Note: Research did not locate an official Union County Georgia sheriff mobile app for inmate lookup.

What Union County Inmate Records Show
The research inventory confirms only part of the inmate profile field set because the official roster endpoint is unavailable. The sheriff page says users can see who is currently in jail and what they are charged with when the roster works. It also says photos are not allowed to be shown under O.C.G.A. 50-18-72. Other data, such as bond, booking date, arresting agency, court date, housing location, or release date, should be confirmed by phone.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Name | The sheriff page says current jail identity is available when the roster is active. |
| Charges | The sheriff page says users can see what inmates are charged with. |

Union County Jail Facility
The Union County Jail page describes the jail as a pretrial holding facility for people accused of crimes who cannot bond out and are awaiting court dates. It also houses people sentenced up to 12 months and people sentenced for more serious crimes until space is available at state facilities. Intake sources include Union County deputies, Blairsville Police Department, Union County Schools Police Department, and other state or federal agencies.
Union County Jail
378 Beasley Street
Blairsville, GA 30512
706-439-6080
Sheriff main phone: 706-439-6066
The jail has 54 beds for general housing and 3 beds for observation. The sheriff page says inmates receive three meals per day, including two hot meals and one cold meal. Medical access includes full-time medical assistance, an LPN on site seven days a week, and a doctor available through Tele-Med 24/7.
The Union County Jail page lists facility role, capacity, meals, medical care, accounts, and vendors.
The jail page supplies the local facility facts that a generic statewide custody search will not show.
Union County Booking Records
Booking begins after arrest and intake at the jail. The jail may hold people awaiting bond, awaiting court dates, serving short sentences, or waiting for state placement. A booking record and a court file are linked but not identical. The booking side may show custody and charges. The court side shows filed charges, hearings, pleas, disposition, and sentence.
The sheriff Admin/Records division maintains incident and accident reports generated by the Sheriff's Office. It also processes traffic citations and forwards them to the proper judicial courts. Requests may be phoned in during normal business hours with enough information to identify the report before pickup. State-issued ID is required before release. Incident reports cost $0.10 per page, accident reports cost $5 per report, and state background checks cost $15 with a signed criminal history release form.
For the court-charge side of a booking, use the arrest-to-charge pathway covered under Union County arrest records and charges.
Union County Jail Visitation
Union County Jail no longer offers in-person visitation for inmates. The official Jail Visitation page directs users to JAILATM.com for video visitation and for setting up an account or depositing money onto a commissary account. The research did not locate official local rules for dress code, child visitor rules, holiday visits, attorney visitation windows, remote-visit prices, or background-check requirements, so those items should be confirmed with the jail.
| Service | Official Rule or Provider | Access Method |
|---|---|---|
| In-person visitation | No longer offered | Use video visitation instead. |
| Video visitation | JAILATM | Create an account at JailATM.com. |
| Commissary deposits | JAILATM or deposits.jailatm.com | Use credit or debit card online, or money orders through jail procedures. |
| Money orders | Union County Jail inmate account | Drop during visitation hours or bring to bonding window at any time. |
| Phone account | Combined Public Communications | Use lobby kiosk or inmatesales.com. |
JAILATM is the video visitation account site named by Union County.
Video visitation is the documented route because the jail no longer offers in-person inmate visitation.
The sheriff visitation page states that in-person visitation is no longer offered.
That local notice controls over any older assumption that Union County still has public in-person jail visits.
Union County Inmate Money and Phone
The sheriff jail page says the jail sets up individual inmate accounts so family and friends can deposit money orders. Cash is not accepted. Money orders can be brought or dropped off during visitation hours or brought to the bonding window at any time. Family and friends may also buy commissary items directly online or deposit money to an inmate account at deposits.jailatm.com with a credit or debit card.
Phone services are provided by Combined Public Communications. Funds may be deposited on an inmate phone account through a kiosk in the visitation lobby. The kiosk takes cash, credit, or debit cards. Online phone deposits can be made through inmatesales.com with a credit or debit card. Combined Public Communications support is listed as 1-877-998-5678.
JailATM deposits are the online commissary account route named in the sheriff research.
Use the deposit portal for account funding, but call the jail when rules, limits, or account problems are unclear.
Union County Inmates and State Custody
A county jail record is not the same as a state-prison record. Union County Jail houses pretrial detainees, short-sentence inmates, and some people waiting for state placement. Once a person is transferred to state custody, the Georgia Department of Corrections offender query may be the better search path. VINELink Georgia can help with custody notifications where data exists, but it should not be treated as a complete court or jail record.
Sex offender registry searches also serve a different purpose. The GBI State Sex Offender Registry is for registered sex offender profiles. It is not a Union County jail roster, current inmate list, or proof of an active court charge.
Important: Confirm custody by phone when the removed roster endpoint prevents a current online Union County inmate check.
